The savvy shopper, known as @carbootisful, couldn't believe her luck as she filled up her trolley with yellow sticker goodies at Tesco. During a late-night sweep of the supermarket, the TikTok content creator managed to save a small fortune by buying just reduced items.

  • 'I dropped 7lbs with simple breakfast change and my body feels so much better'
  • UK households can slash energy bills 'instantly' by using hair dryer

Included in her haul were a series of loaves, pastries and doughnuts which would have cost triple the amount on a full-price shop.

Among her bargain buys were a vintage cheese and onion bloomer for just 59p, a four-pack of seeded rolls for 30p, and a sweet treat selection for only 45p.

She also scooped up jam doughnuts for 33p, a white boulette for 59p, and cheese rolls for 30p - all destined for the freezer to make those savings last even longer.

The thrifty shopper added tiger bread for just over 50p, sliced white loaves for 30p, Nutella doughnuts for 66p, and apple and blackberry pastries for the same price.

Yellow sticker shoppers will mostly agree that what makes or breaks a yellow sticker haul is the timing of the shop. For this content creator, it seemed like the late-night trip was well worth it as they made off with some brilliant bargains.

She said: "It made my day. So much money saved for breakfast and lunch bread - all in the freezer it goes!"

Former Tesco workers have already shared the best time to head to the store to pick up yellow sticker discounts.

Most supermarkets have a clearance section in one of their fresh aisles, which is usually clearly marked or filled with yellow-sticker items. But this can vary from store to store.

Three rounds of yellow sticker reductions were shared by an ex-employee, who told The Mirror these discounts would be increased over the course of the day.

An initial 10% discount in the morning would be upped by 30%, 50%, and in some cases even 90% the later it got in the day.

A Tesco spokesperson also confirmed the benefit of the yellow sticker markdowns, with the bargains also a great way of reducing food waste.

A spokesperson for the supermarket said: "Markdowns on fresh products continue to be popular and help to prevent good food from going to waste."
